OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!I guess I can't tell you what I'm so excited about without explaining a little first. I'm participating in a national weather forcasting contest for universities around the country. Professors, grad students, and undergrads submit forcasts for a designated city and receive points for every degree they are off and 4 points for every precip category they are off. So, basically it's like golf. Lowest score wins. Today was the last day for Burlington, VT, our target city for this period, so "official" results will be tallied after the weekend. Texas A&M University puts out unofficial results daily based on schools submitting their forecast info to them. It's not exactly right, but it's a fairly good peek into how the official results will turn out.
So, what's the exciting part? Check out these results!!! You'll have to scroll down a little bit to get to individual forecaster scores, but look for hmoser (that's me). Then, look how many forecasters are on that list. That's EVERYONE, professors and grads included. Then you'll see what I'm excited about! (!!!!!!!!!!)
Placings and scores after yesterday's official temps and precip came inHypothetical placings and scores for today based on what they THINK the official temps and precip will be. This one is the final day, so this is a good indicator of what the entire two-week placing will be.Again, let me reiterate:
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!
