I am a weather DEMON! Right now I'm participating in this national forecasting contest for Meteorology majors. Basically, I have to predict the high temp, low temp, and precipitation for the next day for a designated city. We're doing Fargo, North Dakota right now, and I am kicking ASS! I'm ranked 69th out of some 900 students participating, and that's including upperclassmen, grad students, AND professors. I need my props now, thanks.

I sometimes wish I had done meterology-I love weather.

Wasn't there some guy there who predicted the most accurate weather out of all the people in the contest? There was some news story on it a while back.

I'd say your ranking means you're already beating the meteorology odds! Congrats!

(Tell me...when will Vegas start to experience something that has any semblance to this odd season of 'fall' that I've heard tell about? Since when is 99 degrees a cooling trend? ;))

The reason it's wrong most of the time is because even with our technologically advanced society, meteorologists still don't have the ability to get the weather exactly right even a day in advance. I don't understand why it sucks so much, but it does.

That's also why I have no idea when Vegas is going to cool off. You can come up here to Iowa if you want to. We'll be lucky to crack 70 today. :)
