Yes, I did indeed visit Mexico recently. Yes, I am indeed sick at the moment with similar symptoms. However, by recently I mean almost two months ago, and I just caught the bug I have now about a week ago. I'm pretty sure I have nothing to worry about.

It was a pretty close call, though. I was reading the news story about those kids in New York, and apparently they visited Cancun in late March, which was where/when they were infected. Jeremy and I visited Cozumel in early March. Cozumel's only about 20 miles from Cancun. Eek.

Still might be worth a call to your doctor to see if they want to test you for it just to be safe.... Don't mean to sound paranoid, but it's better to be sure, I think. Feel better!

I really think this is just a head cold. I read somewhere that the symptoms show up 1-4 days after being exposed, so I would have gotten sick the week after I returned...not a month and a half later.

that's just enough to make me paranoid about it! being that you're young and healthy, I am sure you're fine. any respiratory issues and fever or is it all sinus/sore throat type stuff?

Not really a fever, just a lot of congestion. I had a lot of achiness early on too. I'm still a little sniffly, but I'm pretty much back to normal. But yeah...the whole Cancun thing had me a little bit paranoid.
