I went to talk to nice Mr. veterinerian man today about Phoebe, and he gave me a bottle of 10 tranquilizer pills for $3.00!!!!!! I seriously think humans are being ripped off. Anyway, he used his own poor unsuspecting cat as an example to me of how to administer the pills. I really hope he gave her a vitamin instead of the actual sedative. He also stuck a pencil halfway down her throat to push the pill down. Ouch much? I felt so bad for the poor animal. Now I have to do that to my cat. She is so gonna hate me after this. Wish me luck...

I wouldn't do the pwncil thing, I'd just hold the cats mouth shut and rub the throte till the pill is swollowed (which is how it's meant to be done)

I'll try it. That does seem a little more humane.

Why can't you have a kitty?

They want an extra $300 deposit that you don't get back, plus an extra $20 a month. Which is just a lot of money.

Whoa. Martin Property Management only charged me a $100 nonrefundable pet deposit. There wasn't even a monthly charge. If you ever consider moving, I think they're the most reasonable in town as far as rent and odd expenses go.

So I've heard. Our friend Carmen (of "Poison Ink" fame) has a decent place and his roommate has a cat, and I don't think they charged any extra either.

Damn Hunziker! How much more money do they need?

That, and my house is pretty messy to have a cat right now-I need to be a little better at cleaning...

Tell Carmen that I'll miss his work in the Daily. Yeah, the only perk that I could possibly see to Hunziker was the High Speed Internet with the room. Other than that, the renters get pretty much jacked. We looked into some of their properties when we were looking for a place to stay. With Martin, we pay $595 a month for a two-bedroom apartment three blocks from campus and campustown...aka, a block south of La Boheme. With the super duper cheap pet deposit, we couldn't turn it down.

That's cool. I didn't know about the pet thing until AFTER we moved. I don't mind being close to campus or not, the bus stops right at the front door.

Carmen is working at the Tribune, he does daily cartoons there! And he's cool as the other side of the pillow! :)

Hmm.. could you crunch up the pill and sprinkle it on her food?

Well, I tried putting the half pill in a piece of cheese and feeding it to her, but she found it and spit the goddamn thing out and ate the cheese! Crunching it up might have worked better.
