Ok, answer me this. Why is it that whenever it rains here in Iowa, every earthworm for a 10 mile radius decides to stretch out on the sidewalk in front of where I'm walking? It's gross, and it's especially bothersome when I accidently step on one and the worm guts get caught in between the grooves on the bottom of my shoe.

they also stink. the air fresheners that are called "after the rain" completely boggle my mind. unless it's just an iowa thing, the air smells like worms and protein after the rain. it smells good right before the rain, and at the beginning stages of the rain, but after the rain, it absolutely reeks.

don't quote me on this, but i've always been told that when it rains, their little wormholes get waterlogged and they then choose imminent death by lying on the sidewalk instead of drowning, the poor things.

actually, it's just you. they hear you coming and they're like, "quick, guys, get on the sidewalk, NOW!" :D
