I finally understand some of the appeal to seeing bands that haven't become famous yet. The concerts are much smaller and more intimate, and there's the feeling that if they ever make it big, you saw them before they made it. It's kinda cool. There was a band out of Chicago that played her tonight, and I went with Susan and Sarah to see them perform. Their name was Kill Hannah, and they had a sound unlike anything I've heard before. Apparently, they have this HUGE fanbase in Chi-town, but nobody here has heard of them. They pack clubs up there, and here they were lucky to get maybe 25 or 30 people standing around the stage.

I loved it. Susan bought a t-shirt and their CDs. The band themselves were actually standing out there selling their own shit, which I thought was awesome. I should have got an autograph. Shit.

I love those kind of shows. It's a really cool feeling to be listening to a rarely known band and someone ask you what you're listening to & when you tell them they have no idea what you're talking about. Hehehe. I think it's fun. Plus, it means that you have good taste in music if the band you like makes it big.

are you kidding? those are the only kind i go to anymore. i hate to stand 93234 miles away from the stage and hardly see the band. plus it's nice to be able to tell the band the show was good afterwards, and if i buy a record or something, i know who's getting my money when i buy it off the band and not some vendor who has just faked some band shirts. :)
nice to hear you had a good time!

Aw, I do not like Kill Hannah. They're so overblown in the Chicago area. Did I ever tell you about how last fall I was at the Union and this nasty guy in a band was hitting on me and my friends? He tried to impress me, when I said I was from Chicago, by saying that he knows Kill Hannah. I just looked at him and said "So does my mom." Really, they are the biggest famewhores ever, except they're not really famous.

They certainly aren't famous out here, lol. In fact, he lost some points with the crowd when he called the felt subway sandwich mascot from the parade a hot dog when he walked up to the stage. *shrug*

All three of us agreed that the bass player is a sexy bitch, but I'm the only who thinks the rest could stand to look better.

They played a concert at our school in the Fall semester. If I remember correctly, they were pretty hot, but too concerned with their appearance and not enough concerned with their music. This was proobably 8 months ago though. <3
