Nov. 26th, 2003 12:41 pmI think they assume that there's some kind of vacuum that erases or hides everything around these kids that would have any link to years before 1985. I was born in 1984, and I know more than half this shit. A year doesn't make that much of a difference, and I'm sure my sister (who was born in 1985) has heard of some of this shit too.
But, on another note, I do agree that grocery checkout lines have always had scanners. I've never seen anything different, and I don't know what they would have used before. ;p
