Apr. 18th, 2003 01:25 amMy family blows me away sometimes. They could be scraping pennies together to pay for their next meal, and they'll still go out on a limb to get something you want or need. It's so unconditional and selfless. I can't believe that I've been so blessed to have such an amazingly rare thing.
Something tonight set me off thinking about this. I called my dad a few days ago to ask him if we still had our little window AC unit, because I wanted it for my new apartment next fall. He told me that after we moved into the new house, he gave it to my grandparents out in Syracuse, but that it got lost somewhere along the way and they haven't seen it since. I didn't think anything of it. I just told him that the girls in the apartment now are looking to sell the one they have, and that I would just buy that one. I guess he made a phone call out to grandma and grandpa about it. Grandpa, the one and the same that was nearly on his death bed in the hospital just one month ago, actually went out and dug through everything and found it for me. That was just an unbelievable thing for them to do. It wasn't even that big of a deal. Wow.
I love my family.
