Sep. 3rd, 2001 06:09 pmWell, I'm back from the big family reunion and I am EXHAUSTED. It's been a very eventful weekend. I had a blast at the reunion, and met family members I didn't know existed. I have family in Tihijuana (sp?) Mexico!
The biggest shock actually came to me this morning, though. I've been on this planet 17 years thinking my grandpa was a proud member of the McDonald family. He's not actually a McDonald! He claims the last name because his mother married a McDonald, but his father's last name was actually Smidley, who was full-blooded Irish. This throws a small twist into my genealogical research. He, I, and everyone else still considers him a McDonald, though, and probably always will. I still think he's awesome, though. :)
