My coworkers at the gym are convinced that CashForGold is not a real business but a police sting operation to recover stolen jewelry.

I don't really like the whole "send us your bling first and we promise we'll send you the money later" thing, but I don't own a single piece of gold jewelry so I don't care. The more gaudy jewelry they can melt down the better our world will be. :p

There was some jewelry stolen from the safe at the gym where I work (some of the coaches leave their wedding rings in the safe while they're teaching) and it was returned to the gym last week by CashForGold - a former employee had stolen the rings and sent them in for cash. I have no idea how they tracked down where the rings came from or could tell that they weren't on the up-and-up.
