This sort of sums up my day yesterday. I chased in Texas and saw some amazing tornadoes, and two tornadoes in Kansas hit towns that I know very well. I'll update later this evening with pictures and everything else that was crazy, but those of you on Facebook get to see the pics first. ;)

Yay, you finally saw tornadoes! And the pictures are great!

I opened up the page of storm reports and shouted rather loudly, without even thinking about it, "HOLY SHIT!" Because, well, holy shit!

Well, technically one of them was in Colorado I guess. One large tornado basically went through the center of Holly, Colorado, which is about ten miles north of my grandparents' farm out in western Kansas. They know almost everyone that lives there. The other one hit Bird City, Kansas, which is a tiny town about ten miles from where I went to kindergarten. From what I heard one big tornado missed the town by about a mile, and then a little while later another one hit Bird City directly. It was a crazy night.

I'm so jealous that you get to be a storm chaser. I so wanted to be those people in Twister. Now that I have kids, my priorities have shifted and storm chasing doesn't seem nearly as much fun (no kids and I would be there in a heartbeat but I have think of them first)
