Broomball and I get along great. The ice and I...not so much. I had super sticky shoes on, but a couple times I just got going too fast and lost my balance. There was one time in particular that I was practically sprinting for the ball (I'm aggressive in broomball and have little regard for what I run into), and I slipped on the slick spot at the edge of the arena. I was going so fast that I sailed face first into the wall and hit really fucking hard. Thank GOD I was wearing a face mask or else the brunt of it would have encountered my nose with quite a lot of force. I smacked my knee pretty hard too when I hit the wall, so I ended up limping off the ice for a substitution. It's all good, though. Bruises heal, and I was a hero for about two minutes. And I got the fucking ball.
